Boy Falls From The Sky at Royal Alexandra Theatre
Degrassi: The Next Generation’s Jake Epstein stars in Boy Falls From The Sky at Royal Alexandra Theatre. Performances on the Victoria Day Weekend 2022 are Friday, May 20, 2022 at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2 p.m. The show follows Epstein’s career from Degrassi to the US national tours of Spring Awakening and American Idiot, his turn as Spider-Man on Broadway and originating the lead role of Gerry Goffin in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
Through stories and songs, Epstein pulls back the curtain on the rejection and heartbreak behind his successful career.
Recommended for ages 12 and up due to some profanity.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Cincinnati Reds at Rogers Centre
One of the most popular Toronto events on the May long weekend in 2022 is the Blue Jays game! Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays play the Cincinnati Reds at Rogers Centre. Games will be played on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 7:07 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 3:07 p.m. and Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 1:37 p.m. Purchase tickets online.
FizzFest Toronto
Kick off the May long weekend with this fun mixed drink event at Fort York Garrison Common. FizzFest Toronto takes place from May 21-22, 2022 and features ready-to-drink brands including seltzers, hard sodas, ciders, and more. You’ll also be able to purchase food and enjoy live entertainment including Dwayne Gretzky. Tickets are $49.47 (including fees) for this is 19+ event and your first drink is included with your ticket. FizzFest Toronto is open from noon to 6 p.m.

JUNIOR Festival at Harbourfront Centre
JUNIOR is a Toronto international children’s festival taking place during the May long weekend at Harbourfront Centre. JUNIOR explores what it means to be connected to each other through music, dance, theatre and art. The festival is geared to children ages 4-14. Some of the individual events at JUNIOR include:
The Great Barrier Reef
Children and adults are invited to explore the coral reef ecosystem. Participants in this workshop/show/demonstration will form a “human” coral reef and take on different roles, from being a part of the reef itself to inhabiting the creatures who populate it or the divers who study it. The event ends in a public silent demonstration to express concern for the state of corals.
The Great Barrier Reef event contains four different components with a break for lunch:
- The Great Barrier Reef Workshop – 1 hour, 10 minutes
- Lunch break – 35 minutes (During the last 15 minutes of the lunch break, participants will attend the beauty salon for an underwater makeover.)
- The Great Barrier Reef performance – 1 hour
- Discussion and Demonstration Preparation – 30 minutes
- The Silent Demonstration – 15 minutes
This event takes place at Lakeside Terrace (indoors) from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 21, 22 and 23, 2022.
Queer Songbook Orchestra Kids
Queer Songbook Orchestra Kids is a playful orchestral concert featuring story and song, presented by artists from the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The performance explores identity and acceptance, intended to nurture understanding and spark discussion while creating a judgment-free environment in which they highlight important issues for young people. Queer Songbook Orchestra Kids is at Concert Stage (outdoors, covered) on May 21, 22 and 23, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. (60 minutes).
Create Your Own Comics
Join visual storyteller and artist Althea Balmes for the Create Your Own Comics workshop. Attendees will learn what makes great visual storytelling before creating their own work. No previous experience is required. All materials are provided. Advance registration is required as places are limited. Co-Presented with the Toronto International Festival of Authors.
Spoiiiiiiiiing Kit Johnson X-act
Kitt Johnson X-act presents a magical performance for children and their parents called Spoiiiiiiiiing. The performance will explore the idea that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Through music and magic, attendees will meet two unusual trash-sorting experts.
Toronto Craft and Botanical Market 2022
Shop for plants and artisanal products from local artists on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Henley Room at Argonaut Rowing Club. All craft items are locally and hand produced. Early access to the market from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. costs $7 and ensures a spacious shopping experience. General admission from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. is Free.
