As a foodie, some of the exciting summer events I’m looking forward to in 2022 are Toronto food festivals! I love getting a chance to sample a variety of different foods in the open air while listening to live music. Below are some of my favourite food festivals in Toronto that will return this year after a COVID hiatus:
Festival of South Asia 2018
TD Festival of South Asia 2022
Enjoy curry, panora, biryani, momos, pakoras, samosas, grilled corn and other treats at the TD Festival of South Asia at the Gerrard India Bazaar in Toronto. The South Asian food festival returns after a two-year absence due to COVID and takes place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 and Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 12 noon to 11 p.m. There will also be a cricket open house, Bollywood flash mob, South Asian dance and drumming workshops, kids’ activities and circus buskers. Gerrard Street East from Greenwood Avenue to Coxwell Avenue will be closed to traffic.
Enjoy a variety of foods from Toronto-area food trucks, Midway rides and kids zone at Foodalicious 2022 at Downsview Park from Friday, June 10, 2022 to Sunday, June 12, 2022. Food trucks include:

Toronto Ribfest 2019 takes place Canada Day weekend in Toronto
Toronto Ribfest 2022
The Toronto Ribfest returns to Centennial Park on Canada Day weekend from Thursday, June 30, 2022 to Sunday, July 3, 2022. Here’s where you can choose from a variety of ribs or enjoy chicken, nachos, fries, vegetarian dishes and other menu items. Take in live musical performances including rock, blues, world music, jazz, and country while you nosh. Other activities include magic shows, celebrity food judging, a midway and magic shows. Adults can enjoy their favourite craft beer in the beer garden while there will be plenty of games for children in The Kids Zone. Canada Day (Friday, July 1, 2022) will feature special performers, magic shows, free face painting, and a fireworks display at sundown. Toronto Beaches Rib & Beer Festival 2022
Get your fill of ribs at the Toronto Beaches Rib & Beer Festival at Woodbine Park from Friday, June 24, 2022 to Sunday, June 26, 2022. There will be live entertainment at this free Toronto event including:
Friday, June 24, 2022 – Country Night
Saturday, June 25, 2022 – Rock The Park
Sunday, June 26, 2022 – Music Mash Up & Ribs
There will also be a kids zone, giant yard games and carnival treats. Toronto Beaches Rib & Beer Festival 2022 hours are: Friday, June 24, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Toronto Food Truck Festival 2022
One of the most popular food festivals in Toronto in summer 2022 is the Toronto Food Truck Festival 2022 taking place at Woodbine Park from Friday, July 29, 2022 to Monday, August 1, 2022. Enjoy free admission to this Toronto August long weekend event, as well as live entertainment and eating challenges. Beer will be available for purchase. You may bring well-behaved pets on leashes. Toronto Food Truck Festival hours are Friday, July 29, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Monday, August 1, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Enjoy vegan food, live music, art installations, contests, and shopping for vegan clothing and merchandise at the Toronto Vegandale Festival taking place at Garrison Common on Saturday, August 6, 2022. You’ll be able to try vegan cuisine from more than 100 food and drink vendors. Toronto Vegandale Festival hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 plus HST and admin fee for entry between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; $15 plus HST and admin fee for entry between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Prices increase after Friday, June 10, 2022.
The Waterfront Night Market returns to Ontario Place from Friday, August 12, 2022 to Sunday, August 14, 2022 and features Pan-Asian food, as well as the BeerCraft Festival, Be sure to check out the Illuminasian Floating Lantern and Cultural Showcase. 19+ only for this ticketed event. Tickets are $22.60 and can be purchased online.
