The hot weather has finally arrived and for those of us who love water, we can’t wait to go swimming at City of Toronto outdoor swimming pools! During the last two years of the pandemic, people who wanted to use the City’s outdoor pools had to book an appointment online – plus there was a maximum swim time of 45 minutes! In 2022, these restrictions have been removed and you can just show up at a City of Toronto outdoor swimming pool and gain entry (if they are not at capacity).
As well all know, the pandemic has created supply chain issues as well as delays in repair work being implemented. As a result, some City of Toronto outdoor swimming pools will either not be open in summer 2022 or will have a delayed opening. Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Swimming Pool 2022 Hours
Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Swimming pool is one of my favourite City of Toronto outdoor pools. Situated right on the lakeshore, you can see the glistening waters of Lake Ontario from the deck. This outdoor pool is also quite large with ample space for swimming in the shallow end, mid-section and deep end. Steps leading to the shallow end provide easy pool entry. No bags are allowed on deck so you’ll have to bring a quarter to place your items in a locker. There is metered parking after 4 p.m. and on weekends; if you arrive on weekdays before 4 p.m., parking is free.

Giovanni Caboto Outdoor Swimming Pool is a great City of Toronto pool to visit if you’re in the west end. The pool is spacious and has stairs leading into the shallow end for easy accessibility. Pool hours on Saturday, June 25, 2022 and Sunday, June 26, 2022 are:

Monarch Park Outdoor Swimming Pool Hours 2022
Monarch Park Outdoor Swimming Pool is one of the larger City of Toronto outdoor pools. This 25-metre pool has a separate diving area, water slide and raised seating area for guests. The pool opens for the season on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Pool hours on Saturday, June 25, 2022 and Sunday, June 26, 2022 are:
Lane Swim: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Leisure Swim: 12 noon to 8 p.m.

Donald D. Summerville Outdoor Swimming Pool 2022 Hours
Donald D. Summerville Outdoor Swimming Pool is located at Woodbine Beach. This popular Toronto outdoor swimming pool features a 50-metre swimming pool and a 25-metre swimming pool that overlook the Beach boardwalk. As a result of damage to the pool liners due to winter weather, the 50-metre pool will not be open in summer 2022. The repair to the lining will be able to be made to the 25-metre pool, but the pool will have a delayed opening at the end of July 2022.

Riverdale Park East Outdoor Swimming Pool Hours 2022
Riverdale Park Outdoor Swimming Pool is a gorgeous City of Toronto pool in the east end. It has stairs leading to the shallow end for easy entry, a water slide and raised seating area for sunbathing. There is even a grassy section where you can throw down your beach towel! Due to the concrete basin of the pool needing to be repaired, Riverdale Park Outdoor Swimming Pool will not be open until late July 2022.
