I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of October! The month has gone by so quickly. Next week is Halloween!! Do you have your house decorated for Halloween? I decorate the exterior of our house with decorations that I bought at Dollarama. I love when the kids come to shell out for Halloween. Well, I can’t let the month go by without sharing my current faves. Continue reading to find out what I’m crushing on in October 2022:

Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure Time Restore Clay Treatment

I received the Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure Time Restore Clay Treatment along with the Shampoo and Conditioner to review on Instagram. The Time Restore line is for mature and fragile hair. They make other lines including the Repair Rescue for damaged hair and Colour Freeze for coloured hair. I must say I absolutely love the Clay Treatment! The treatment has quite a thick consistency. I put about three tablespoons on my hair (after using shampoo and conditioner) and massage it into my scalp. The instructions say to leave it on your hair for 10 minutes, which I do. I notice that my hair feels so much softer and thicker after using the clay treatment. It really gives my hair a lot of body! I also like that the clay treatment, shampoo and conditioner are 100% vegan and contain clean ingredients.

Cleo Relaxed Wool Blend Boucle Coat

I was shopping recently and thought I would pop in to have a look at Cleo. I had seen a lot of their winter coats online and one of them caught my eye: the Relaxed Wool Blend Boucle Coat in Forest Green, $199.90. I just had to try it on to see what it looked like. I tried on a small since that’s my normal size, but it was a bit loose, although this might be good if I were wearing a jacket or bulky sweater underneath. The attention to detail includes tapering at the wrist. I love the Forest Green shade as I tend to lean towards black when buying a winter coat. This coat is made from 62% polyester and 32% wool and the cut is quite nice. It’s the perfect winter coat when you want to feel dressed up! The coat also comes in Petite in Dark Cabernet.

Warden Woods

I just discovered this wooded trail that is a 15 minute drive from my home. I thought I would have to go outside of Toronto to find a wooded trail, but I was wrong. I desperately wanted to go for a fall trail walk to see the fall colours, which are now about 80% turned so I was thrilled to find that this Toronto walking trail was so close to me. We took The Gus Harris Trail, which is 3.22 kilometres (2 miles). This easy-walking trail winds around Massey Creek up to St. Clair Avenue East. This is the perfect distance for me because I am just getting back into walking after losing a lot of weight. The Gus Harris Trail can be accessed at  Have a look at the TikTok video I took of our walk:

@loribosworth I went for a fall walk at Warden Woods in #Toronto today. The leaves were near peak with about 80% colour change. This park is an oasis in Toronto’s east end. #WardenWoods #torontoparks #torontolife #torontostyle #torontolifestyle #fallcolours #itsabeautifulday #autumnishere #torontowalks #fallfoliage #torontoblogger #yyzblogger #canadablogger ♬ Autumn Leaves – Timothy Cole

The Mindful Photographer by David Ulrich

As a blogger, I’m always trying to learn to take better photos and video. That’s why I was excited to read The Mindful Photographer by David Ulrich. Ulrich, a photographer and photography teacher with over 40 years’ experience, encourages the reader to give thought to why you are taking a photo, the messages you are trying to convey, as well as your intended audience. He also challenges us to venture beyond the norm by taking photos that reveal the unexpected. On the phenomenon of selfies, Ulrich states that most people receive a boost of dopamine when their selfie photos receive a lot of likes and comments. But he cautions that likes and comments are not real love and that we must hold our egos in check and “focus on the reality and needs of others, and of society itself.” As Ulrich wisely states, “The photographs you take say as much or more about you than they do the subject.” This book contains many photos, both colour and black-and-white, to help illustrate his points. I found this book very helpful in giving me a deeper perspective when taking photos. The Mindful Photographer is published by Rocky Nook and the ISBN No. is 978-1-68198-841-2.
