Are you nearsighted like me? (By the way, that means you can see up close but need glasses for distance!) I don’t mind being nearsighted when I can wear some of the gorgeous glasses from Oscar Wylee! This optometrist started off as an Australian family run brand that has now expanded to 125 stores internationally with stores in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. They have three locations in the GTA: one at Sherway Gardens, one at Markville Shopping Centre and one at Oshawa Centre. Disclosure: I was invited to receive two complimentary pairs of glasses from Oscar Wylee.
When I started wearing glasses for distance years ago, I would buy only one pair. But glasses have become so stylish and are even a fashion accessory so it makes sense to have more than one pair. I loved trying on glasses at the Oscar Wylee Sherway Gardens store. They have a great selection of glasses in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Their collection is also affordable and includes styles I haven’t seen elsewhere.

I ended up selecting Pia prescription sunglasses in Butterscotch Tortoise and Frieda prescription glasses in Bright Cobalt.

I ordered the Pia sunglasses in Butterscotch Tortoise with the following add-ons: Super Thin & Light lenses, which are an additional $100; and Polarized, which are an additional $100. The Polarized add-on eliminates glare on the lenses and includes an anti-glare coating. I chose the Frieda prescription glasses in a gorgeous Bright Cobalt. The add-ons I chose for my Frieda glasses were Super Thin & Light lenses ($100) and Premium Anti-Glare Coating for an additional $30.
Getting both pairs of glasses with super light lenses has really made a difference as the glasses don’t feel heavy on my face. I do recommend upgrading to the Premium Anti-Glare Coating for the additional $30 because there is a bit of glare on my Pia sunglasses on which I have only the regular anti-glare coating.
If you are concerned about affordability, you can get two pairs of glasses from Oscar Wylee from $199.

I really enjoyed my experience shopping for new glasses at Oscar Wylee. Do you wear prescription glasses? If so, how many pairs do you have?
