After a slow start to spring, many people will be anticipating the May long weekend in Toronto, which, it’s hard to believe, is two-and-a-half weeks away! May 20-22, 2023. The Victoria Day weekend, which is May 20-22, 2023 will find many people heading up north to open their cottages, but just as many people will be staying in Toronto enjoying the unofficial start of summer. Let’s hope we will be watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play in Round 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the May long weekend! Here are several fun things to do May long weekend in Toronto 2023.
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre
One of the most popular Toronto events on the May long weekend in 2023 is attending the Blue Jays game! Watch Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Matt Chapman, Bo Bichette and the rest of the Toronto Blue Jays play the Baltimore Orioles at Rogers Centre. Games will be played on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 7:07 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 3:07 p.m. and Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 1:37 p.m. (Jr. Jays Sundays). The first 15,000 fans on Saturday, May 20, 2023 will receive a Pickleball Paddle presented by Ryobi. Sunday, May 21, 2023 is Jr. Jays Sunday, which means kids 14 and under can run the bases after the game. Tickets are $28, $66.50, $74.80, $85.60, $93.80, and $109. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre
A wonderful way to enjoy the May long weekend in Toronto is by seeing the outstanding Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. The show must move on on July 2, 2023 so this is a great time to catch it before it’s gone. The technical illusions will delight both adults and children. The story line focuses on a new generation of wizards who cast tantalizing spells as they race to stop mysterious forces. Performances during the May long weekend take place on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $109, $129, $149, $159, $169, $199 and $250 and can be purchased online at Mirvish or by calling 1-800-461-3333. Run time is 3 hours and 20 minutes with intermission. CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre is located at 244 Victoria Street.
Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay Park
Fireworks will take place on Monday, May 22, 2023 beginning at 9:45 p.m. You’ll be able to see the fireworks anywhere along the beach from Ashbridges Bay Park to the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant. There is limited parking at Green P parking lots. Ashbridges Bay Park is also accessible by TTC.
Guided Walk at Rouge National Urban Park
Explore wildlife habitats of the Beare Wetlands in Rouge National Park with walk leader Carolyn Fergus on Saturday, May 20 2023. Walkers will be able to view many wildlife habitats created by the ecological restoration of the Beare Wetlands in Rouge National Urban Park. The walk begins at 1 p.m. and lasts two hours. The distance is 2 km to 4.5 km and is of moderate difficulty due to hills and stairs.
Location: Cedar Trail and the Beare Wetlands Loop. Meet at the oTENTiks (A-frame cabin).
No pets except service dogs are permitted.

JUNIOR Festival at Harbourfront Centre 2023
Take the kids to JUNIOR, the international children’s festival at Harbourfront Centre taking place on the May long weekend 2023. The festival offers free family programming, as well as internationally renowned ticketed performances. Enjoy cultural celebrations, workshops and performances and experience the limitless possibilities of movement and creativity, led by local and international artists. JUNIOR will take place at indoor and outdoor venues throughout Harbourfront Centre. Some of the events include:
Pinnochio
The kids will enjoy watching this play about the puppet who learns to become human while navigating a world of odd characters, temptations and deceptions. This visually stunning and music-filled classic performance features stylized puppetry and humour. The play is performed by Teater Patrasket, Copenhagen’s touring theatre company since 1985. Pinnochio is performed on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Harbourfront Centre Theatre, 231 Queens Quay West. Tickets are Adults $18; Child $10. Tickets day of the performance are $20 (13+).

Cirque du Soleil KOOZA
KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil, KOOZA, with a focus on traditional circus in all its splendor, complete with acrobatic prowess and slapstick comedy. Filled with chills, thrills, laughter and wonder, KOOZA unfolds a non-stop, adrenaline-packed series of exhilarating surprises.
Since its debut in 2007, KOOZA has been seen by almost 8 million spectators with over 4,000 performances in 65 cities across 22 countries. The production had record-breaking attendance numbers at its Montreal 2022 relaunch.
Cirque du Soleil KOOZA runs to June 18, 2023 at its new location in Humber Bay Shores at 2150 Lake Shore Blvd. W. The show is 125 minutes long including a 25-minute intermission.

Stranger Things: The Experience
Immerse yourself into Stranger Things: The Experience at Cinespace Studios Marine Terminal on the May long weekend. You’ll be thrown back into the year 1986 in the town of Hawkins in a world of supernatural mystery, enduring friendships, and ‘80s nostalgia celebrating the Stranger Things universe. Advance tickets are required. Time slots are available every half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 8:58 p.m. Cinespace Studios Marine Terminal is located at 8 Unwin Avenue.
