Spring weather has finally arrived and that means it’s time to switch up both your skincare routine and your beauty routine for lighter colours and textures. A natural look is always great for spring – it gives a really youthful glow – and this can be created with neutral shades that are close to your skin tone. I recently attended a K-Beauty event in Toronto and received some fabulous K-Beauty product samples so I’ve included a few of them in my review. La Laque Tinted Lip Oil from Wonderblush
I love La Laque tinted lip oil from Wonderblush as it’s a hybrid between a gloss and a balm. The Abricot shade is a luminous peach that can be built up to provide a more pigmented look. When the blazing summer heat arrives, this lip oil will keep my lips nourished due to its blend of jojoba seed oil, avocado oil and hyaluronic acid. This lip oil stays on for several hours, but does need to be reapplied after eating. I find it looks particularly good with peach, green and blue outfits in my summer wardrobe. Wonderblush is a relatively new Canadian makeup brand focusing on natural beauty, thus, their shades are subtle, which I like. La Laque tinted lip oils come in five shades and are $32. I love drinking a cup of tea every day, especially because I know how good tea’s antioxidants are for me. So why not use a shampoo and conditioner that are formulated from tea? I tried it on a few blemishes and they virtually disappeared after about 12 hours so this product is a win! You can use it day or night! Persimmon Soap Bar
Are you over 40? I just learned that as we get older, our skin develops a greasy, grassy, musty smell. This is due to the increased production of 2-Nonenal, which is the breakdown of omega-7 fatty acids on the skin.
This fatty acid and smell is not easily washed away with regular soap and water, but can be eliminated by using Persimmon Soap. Persimmon Soap breaks down this fatty acid so that it can be rinsed off the skin. I’ve tried it and it not only smells wonderful, but leaves your skin smelling lovely. Be The Skin Pore Reset Glass Skin Cleansing Oil
BE THE SKIN Pore Reset Glass Skin Cleansing Oil is one of my new favourite cleansers and that’s why I’ve included it in my best beauty products for spring 2026. I’ve been advised by skincare experts that women over 50 should use oil cleansers as they don’t strip the skin, but I’ve found that some oil cleansers feel too heavy. This K-Beauty oil cleanser does not feel greasy at all! It’s made from Glycerin, Sorbitol, Vitamin E, Camellia Seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Jojoba Seed Oil. It’s great for removing makeup, cleansing the skin of impurities while hydrating the skin. And it does give my skin a glass skin look! I also like that it’s paraben-free, sulfate-free, silicone-free, and alcohol-free.

I have started using Avène Hyaluron Activ Procedure Lifting Cream to reduce the appearance of fine lines and firm my skin. The lifting cream contains Retinal, which works 10 times faster than Retinol so you will see quicker results. Lighter textures for the warmer weather is the way to go for sure. I am definitely intrigued by that Haruharu Black Rice essence. never tried anything like that before.
