Located at Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area, this treetop adventure park features giant forest ziplines, aerial games, treetop obstacle courses, upla (trampoline) suspended net adventures. Zipline safety orientation is provided and everyone starts at the beginner level. Participants can choose whether to do more challenging courses.
Must be a minimum 9 years of age; minimum height of 4’7″; and maximum weight of 250 lbs. Pregnant women are not permitted to climb.

Scenic Caves Nature Adventures
This Collingwood attraction features 200-year-old forests and the longest suspension bridge in Southern Ontario. Venture to the bridge and take in the tops of trees and witness spectacular views of Georgian Bay. You will also see natural caves and caverns along the 370 acres of forest trails.

The Cheltenham Badlands
One of the most fascinating road trips less than 2 hours from Toronto is Cheltenham Badlands, which makes a great day trip. The badlands, which are part of the Niagara Escarpment, feature striking red ridges and gullies carved into exposed Queenston Shale. The shale was deposited approximately 450 millions years ago when this area was beneath a sea. The site demonstrates geological processes such as erosion and weathering. And if you’re wondering why they’re called “badlands,” they acquired their name because Indigenous people found them very difficult to cross.
Admission is Monday-Friday: $10 plus HST (90 minute visit); $18 plus HST (3 hour visit). Weekends and holidays: $20 plus HST (90 minute visit); $35 plus HST (3 hour visit).
The Cheltenham Badlands are open from May to November from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tubing at Elora Gorge
For an exciting thrill, ride an inner tube along the river at Elora Gorge on this day trip, which is one hour west of Toronto. Check online first as tubing may be closed when river levels are too high.
All participants must be at least 48 inches tall. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Competent swimming abilities are required.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
Located just one hour west of Toronto, Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is an indoor tropical greenhouse featuring thousands of free-flying butterflies. As you walk through the lush garden, you’ll see not only butterflies, but tropical birds, and turtles, as well as interactive exhibits. During warmer months, the outdoor grounds are accessible and feature a children’s playground, pollinator garden, and wildflower meadow.

Purple Hill Lavender Farm
If you’re looking for a scenic summer day trip, you’ll want to visit this family-run 50-acre lavender farm in Creemore, just 1 1/12 hours northwest of Toronto. The owners cultivate and harvest lavender into home and beauty products. Wander through the lavender fields, inhale the gorgeous scent, and get that perfect Instagram shot! There are also paid events at the farm including Evening Picnic Series; yoga; and ceramics workshops.
There is no restaurant on site, but they do offer light snacks and refreshments for an additional cost. Picking your own lavender is not permitted. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed and cleaned up after.
Note: There are beehives on the property for those who are allergic.
General Admission is $15 per person; Child (under 5) Free.
The farm is open from Saturday, June 20, 2026 until Sunday, August 9, 2026 daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cobourg Beach
Want to head to the beach, but don’t feel like driving to Muskoka? Cobourg Beach is the ticket. Located less than 90 minutes from Toronto, Cobourg Beach is in fact two beaches: Victoria Park Beach, loved by tourists; and West Beach (located just west of Victoria Park Beach) favoured by the locals. There are public washrooms located at the Victoria Park Canteen that are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from the May long weekend to Thanksgiving weekend. There are no lifeguards on duty at Cobourg Beach.
After swimming, you can head to downtown Cobourg for a bite to eat at their trendy restaurants and cafes. If you’re there on a Saturday (from May 2, 2026 – October 31, 2026), you can visit the Cobourg Farmers Market open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you feel like getting some exercise, rent a bike from Cobourg Marina so that you can explore the beach, boardwalk or scenic routes in Northumberland County. Bike rentals are one hour $10; 1/2 day $15; full day $25.
